A pair from Las Vegas was driving on I-70 close to Denver when a sudden jolt threw their pick-up out of balance. Thomas Quammel, who had been driving, told them that the truck they were hauling started pushing pressure on the pickup, forcing it to swerve. Quammel and his bride, Leslie Brock, suspected the incident was due to a big chink in the road. However, the police still charged Quammel with reckless driving.

Quammel said he was traveling when their car struck the pothole. The impact was strong enough to force the RV trailer to push into the vehicle, causing it to spiral out of balance. The couple's suspicions about the pothole were confirmed just a few days later when the police closed the road to repair a major pothole. It is still unclear whether the pothole that caused the accident was the same one that was later repaired.
Nevertheless, the incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of potholes on the roads. Potholes can damage vehicles and cause accidents that result in injuries and even fatalities.
The Colorado State Patrol has stated that drivers who disagree with an injunction they have received can go before a judge and present evidence in court. This underscores the importance of taking action if you believe you have been unfairly charged with a traffic offense.
The accident on I-70 near Denver serves as a warning about the dangers of potholes on the road. Drivers should be aware of their surroundings and take the necessary precautions to avoid accidents, including reporting potholes to local authorities to ensure they are repaired in a timely manner.
