On Saturday afternoon, a gunshot incident occurred in Old Town, resulting in one man being hurt, as reported by the Portland Police Bureau (PPB). At approximately 1:45 a.m Police on patrol in the area of West Burnside Street close to Northwest Fourth Avenue heard gunshots on the south end. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered a male with fatal wounds and immediately transported him to a nearest clinic.
As police conducted an investigation of the initial gunshot, police heard additional gunshots coming from Southwest Third Avenue and Southwest Ankeny Street. Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered signs of shots, but no victims were located. No arrests have been made in connection with either shooting.
The Enhanced Community Safety Team has taken over the investigation of both incidents. The team is seeking any information that could help identify the perpetrators of the shootings. If you have any information, please email the Portland Police Bureau.
Such incidents highlight the need for increased community vigilance and collaboration with law enforcement agencies to prevent and combat gun violence. The PPB is urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals to the authorities.
