Over the weekend, a Target store in Marion County was the scene of a disturbing incident involving a man who set a fire in the toy aisle and stole multiple items. Deputies are searching for a man who intentionally set a fire in a store and stole multiple items last weekend, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred on Saturday when deputies responded to a report of a fire at the Target located at 3790 Center Street Northeast. Upon arriving, deputies discovered that a man had intentionally set the fire as a diversion while he stole merchandise. Further investigation revealed that the suspect entered the store at 1:25 p.m., set the fire at approximately 1:33 p.m., and then fled out the back door of the Target at about 1:39 p.m. The sheriff's office has stated that there were several people who witnessed the fire and filmed the incident.
The authorities are urging anyone who has information about the incident or recognizes the suspect to come forward and contact Deputy Tribby at 503-798-7384. This is an ongoing investigation, and the authorities are relying on the public's help to bring the suspect to justice. It is essential to remember that incidents like these can have dire consequences and put people's lives in danger.
