According to police, both people on board died. Police officers do not disclose their names. The federal administration clarified that the crashed plane was a C54D-DC military aircraft that was actively used during World War II as a cargo aircraft.

An active investigation is currently underway. Police and special services are actively searching the crash site, however, thin ice on the river creates difficulties for the search. Furthermore, witnesses of the crash are being interviewed by police in an effort to gather more information.

The aircraft has been transported to a special center for examination and identification of the causes of the crash. A complete checking of the airplane's equipment will be carried out. Within a month the federal department will provide a preliminary report, and in the next 12 months it will be possible to report the exact cause of the accident with all the details.
