The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) recently confirmed that the truck operator and trucking firm involved in the incident that caused part of Interstate 95 to crash in Philadelphia were acting within all proper authority. That statement was made Wednesday, following the accident earlier this week.

We took this video from ABC 7 Chicago YouTube Channel.

The driver of the truck, Nathan Moody, sadly died in the incident. The medical examiner declared his fatality an incident caused by "blunt trauma to the head, inhalation and thermal wounds." At the time of the incident, Moody was working as a driver for TK Transport, a subsidiary of Penn Tank Lines. Despite requests for comment, a spokesman for Penn Tank Lines did not respond. Moody's relatives speak of him as a safety-conscious driver with extensive experience. The 53-year-old Army veteran had previously driven trucks for the military, worked the night shift and drove the same route each Sunday afternoon to deliver gas.

Moody's relatives speak of him as a safety-conscious driver with extensive experience. The 53-year-old Army veteran had previously driven trucks for the military, worked the night shift and drove the same route each Sunday afternoon to deliver gas. This accident raised concerns about the safety of trucking companies and their drivers. However, it is important to note that the NTSB confirmed that TK Transport was acting within all proper authority at the time of the accident.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety in the trucking industry. It is very important that trucking companies prioritize the safety of their drivers and those on the road. This includes ensuring proper driver training, regular vehicle maintenance and strict adherence to safety protocols.

The NTSB will continue to investigate the cause of the accident and all contributing factors. In the meantime, it is imperative that all trucking companies and their drivers remain vigilant and put safety first.
