In a chilling turn of events at a Maryland Costco distribution center, a truck driver now faces murder charges following the discovery of a deceased woman on the floorboard of his truck. The tragic incident unfolded on Sunday, September 24th, around 1:30 a.m. in Frederick County, Maryland, casting a somber shadow over the otherwise peaceful location.

NJ News reports that authorities responded to distress calls alerting them to a truck driver who had purportedly shattered his own window. Arriving at the scene shortly afterward, law enforcement officers encountered the individual in question, Matthew S. Watley, a 46-year-old individual, who displayed signs of intoxication and exhibited a combative demeanor. Concerned for the safety of Watley and others, the officers promptly encircled his truck with spike strips, aiming to prevent his escape. Despite these measures, Watley brazenly tried to flee in his rig, even driving over the deployed spike strips. Eventually, he halted at the exit of the distribution center, yet adamantly refused to exit the vehicle. Despite efforts to negotiate, the situation escalated, leading the officers to resort to pepper spray. Nevertheless, Watley steadfastly remained in the truck, prompting the officers to forcibly break another window on the cab and utilize a stun gun to subdue and apprehend him.

Subsequent investigation of the truck uncovered the tragic revelation of a deceased woman on the floorboard of the vehicle's cab. As authorities work diligently to identify the victim, her name remains undisclosed pending notification of her next of kin. Disturbingly, Watley now faces charges of both first and second-degree murder in connection with this heart-wrenching incident.

Currently, authorities have transferred Watley to a hospital, where he remains under police supervision while receiving treatment.
