In a distressing incident on Friday night, two individuals, including a 16-year-old, fell victim to gunfire in the southeastern part of Portland. The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) promptly confirmed the details surrounding the unfortunate event. At approximately midnight on Friday, as the night grew darker, officers swiftly responded to multiple reports of shots being fired near the intersection of Southeast Stark Street and Southeast 122nd Avenue. However, upon initial investigation, no evidence of a shooting could be found.

We took this video from KPTV FOX 12 Oregon YouTube Channel.

Moments later, a security guard from a local bar situated in the 12200 block of SE Stark Street urgently dialed emergency services, reporting a shooting incident that had transpired just outside the establishment's premises. Responding without delay, officers arrived at the scene, uncovering substantial evidence demonstrating the occurrence of a shooting.

As the investigation deepened, officers received crucial information that one of the victims had managed to reach a nearby hospital seeking medical attention. It was revealed that this victim, a resilient 16-year-old boy, is expected to overcome his injuries and make a recovery. In a separate development, authorities also responded to another medical facility where a 39-year-old man, also wounded by the same incident, was admitted. Fortunately, the man's condition is stable, and medical professionals anticipate his survival.

The Portland Police Bureau stressed that no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting. At this time, they refrained from providing any detailed suspect description. To intensify their efforts in uncovering further information, the Enhanced Community Safety Team has been deployed to carry out an extensive investigation into the incident. In order to aid their inquiries, the public has been urged to come forward with any relevant information by emailing crimetips@police.portlandoregon.gov, attention: Enhanced Community Safety Team, referring to the case number 23-217595.

This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the pressing need for the community to remain vigilant and cooperative with law enforcement authorities. The Portland Police Bureau remains resolute in their pursuit of justice and maintaining the safety and security of the city's residents.
