In 1946, Joe Smith founded Joe Smith Trucking and began transporting grain, cattle and shelling corn for nearby farmers.

The name was changed to "Joe Smith and Sons" after the addition of sons Keith and Phil. After buying dump trucks, they started hauling gravel and blacktop in the summer and soft water on the side.

Since 1946, Smith Trucking has operated, giving us more than 75 years to hone its customer service and culture. The corporate headquarters are in Worthington, Minnesota. With a second terminal in Sioux City, Iowa, the primary terminal is in Worthington, Minnesota.

From some of the largest shippers in the food sector, including JBS Foods, Hormel Foods, Tyson Foods, and Seaboard Farms, Smith Trucking transports a range of temperature-controlled goods.
