Stability controls not working freightliner

Does anyone here know why my assisted braking, stability control, and adaptive cruise stop working every time I hook up to a different trailer? I like the adaptive cruise feature but can’t use it when this happens. After I get on the road, then stop for my break, then resume driving, it seems to have worked itself out. After I drop a trailer and grab a new one, it doesn’t work again. The techs in my company shop say it happens and if they tried to run code on it it would show clean, so, effectively, they’re no help. Any advice other than get a new truck is appreciated.

You might need to recalibrate your stability control system after hooking up to a different trailer.

It could be a problem with your trailer ABS connector or wiring. Make sure they are clean and secure when you hook up to a new trailer. Also check your fuses and relays for any blown ones.

+ Try pulling trailer 10 to 20 feet then shut truck off . Trailer might be throwing a abs code until wheels do a few revolutions. When you restart truck it doesn’t see code and allows cruise again .

Mack anthem problems

I had a Mack anthem that had some weird engine issues. Then got a new anthem and everything was going great. Unfortunately the new anthem is already having issues. The air pressures have been running lower and isn't going up. The wheels locked up and it just got towed this morning. Not sure what's going to happen.

Sounds like you have an air leak somewhere in your system. Check your hoses, valves, fittings, and tanks for any cracks or damage. Also make sure your air dryer is working properly and draining moisture from the air.

Sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with your Mack anthem. It sounds like a lemon. You should contact Mack and see if they can fix it under warranty or replace it with another one.

That’s why I don’t trust Mack trucks. They’re overpriced and unreliable. You should have gotten a Freightliner or a Volvo instead.

+ New trucks almost always have bugs you need to work out. When I was assigned a new truck, I always wanted one that had at least 50,000 miles on it so that someone else had already worked out the bugs. I can't help you with the issue you have, but I can assure you that bugs in new trucks are common.

New trucks and older trucks all will have mechanical issues. My current truck has been down for DEF/DPF problems three times for at least two days each time. I have had the mechanical side of the APU worked on three times, also. Yesterday, I had the radiator replaced, two new drive tires, the rear drive brakes and rotors, annual inspection, all the filters replaced, two new headlight bulbs, and a grease job.

I’ve been driving a new to me Anthem for a few weeks now. It’s only got 122k miles on it but the previous driver trashed it. I’ve been spending my down time trying to clean it up. Haven’t had any issues with it other then that stupid hood. Who ever designed that latch system needs to go back to school. All of our trucks (day cabs) have the same problem; the hood shakes, rattles and rolls with every bump and twist.

Truck parking problem

I see trucks parked in the strangest places sometimes fairly far away from interstates so it got me realizing that its probably pretty difficult for a truck driver to find a place to park. How big of an issue is finding overnight parking?

+ Sice most truck stops fill up between 4pm and 6pm, finding parking is a HUGE pain. Basically there are way more trucks on the road now than there were 20 years ago and truck parking hasn't changed to accommodate the new rigs.

Massive pain. Truck stops and rest areas fill up pretty early in the evening. Rest areas are the worst because they literally fill up. All the spots and then all the driving space so you pull in and all the illegally parked trucks make it impossible to manuever.

truck wont start

Hey guys, I'm having some problems with my Volvo(isx engine). The issue is that it wouldn't start at all Everything ran fine,no problems at all when i last used it.Knowing my batteries were weak,i went out and replaced them. When i tried to start it, it wouldn't even crank the engine.I would only get the starter missing out sound.I did spray starting fluid on the air filter and nothing. Also had the a message "check data link"on it,after a while trying to start it.Anyone has any ideas of what could be it?A mechanic that will take a look at it said it could be a relay.I don't have a clue, but i would like you guys to give me an idea.

Your truck might have a problem with the data link terminating resistor. This is a part that helps prevent electrical interference on the data link network. If it’s faulty or missing, it can cause communication errors between the modules and prevent your truck from starting.

+ Volvo's have a starter relay on the firewall, under the hood, just under the brake valve/clutch reservoir. I've had those go out a couple of times.
GGG
GGG
01.11.2023
+ Start by cleaning and checking all the connections on the battery's and make sure there on correctly! If that doesn't do it check the voltage at the battery's (should be at least 12 volts) if that's OK time to work your way forward with a test light. Just follow the starter cable to the solenoid (some trucks have 2) and check for power on the terminal that comes from the battery, it should be hot all the time if not the problem is between there and the btry. If it's hot try jumping the solenoid from the big 'hot terminal to the small term. MAKE SURE THE TRANNY IS IN NUTRAL!! if the engine bumps over the problem is more than likely in the key switch or that part of the wiring. If the starter still wont turn over check the power at the starter.

Kenworth electrical problems

2000 Kenworth W900L has intermitten electrical power loss. Stereo loses power completely, blinks back on, resets itself. Lights sometime flicker and jake brake has lost power and flutters from medium to high but on single stage setting seems to operate correctly.
