Eat healthy guys

https://newjobs4you.com/blogs/trucking-tips/healthy-food-for-truckers/

It’s got some good tips on what snacks to keep in your cab, like apples, oranges, etc.

I think this is important stuff, because we all know how hard it is to stay fit and healthy when we’re driving long hours and living out of our trucks. I’ve been trying to follow some of these suggestions, but I’m not gonna lie, it’s tough. Sometimes I just crave a burger and fries 🤪.

So I’m wondering if any of you have some more advice on how to eat healthy. What do you do to beat temptation?

Since I have learned that my cholesterol is high, I am trying to be more careful about my food. I don't buy ready-made food in cafes or parking lots (only when I'm super busy). Shop at supermarkets, read the ingredients carefully to avoid sugar.

I always try to find at least 30 minutes to cook myself a meal. It is very important to add a lot of protein to your diet. Lately I am obsessed with salmon+ fresh salad add some chickpeas, avocado that's so yummy. Be careful with avocado cause of calories.

Try to avoid excessive sugar consumption, for example, I want to sleep terribly after sweets or high-calorie food. I always keep low-carb tortillas, canned tuna, vegetables, yogurt in stock. This is a great option for breakfast and lunch. If you don't like tuna, you can replace it with chicken or even meat.

I never liked cottage cheese before. But if you add a banana, nuts and a little honey or jam, it's incredibly delicious. Now I always buy several packages at once. You can freeze it if you need. By the way, the salty version is also excellent: cottage cheese + whole grain bread + cucumber + salmon.

You can eat tasty and cheap in a truck. The most important thing is to have a fridge to store food. You can always store food in containers or vacuum and use it when you need. When I feel a little hungry, I take a small plate and fill it up with snacks like cucumber, carrot sticks etc. Really low cal stuff.

EPA and NOx emissions

Have you seen this article about the EPA and their crazy emission standards? They want us to cut 90% of NOx emissions by 2031 and switch to electric trucks by 2040. What a bunch of nonsense!

I think all of these are based on faulty science and data. Electric trucks are a joke. They are expensive, unreliable, and impractical. They have limited range, long charging times, and low performance.

I do not know, maybe you have a different opinion, but this is mine

Here is the article I read: https://newjobs4you.com/blogs/road-safety/trucking-emission-standards/

Yeah, this is a big problem, but most people don’t seem to care. They’re just living their lives without thinking about how it impacts the planet. Electric trucks sound good, but they’re not practical yet—too expensive and have limited range. We need better solutions, not just things that look good on paper. It’s frustrating when decisions are made with bad data. We need to think about how these changes will really affect people.

People don't understand how hard this job is. Drivers never have enough time to rest or just have a snack. That's why drivers often have serious health problems. When you're driving all day, super tired, you're too lazy to cook something healthy yourself. It's easier for me to go and buy something simple like a sandwich

The most important thing is a good solid breakfast. I like boiled eggs or an omelet, yogurt with fruit and lots of water. Eating cereal with milk is the worst idea, it makes you hungry again so fast. I used to eat hamburgers or sandwiches like crazy before. Now I try to think about my meals in advance, I eat more protein and of course veggies.

The diet of truck drivers should be more varied. Include not only meat and fish, but also whole grain products, fruits and vegetables. Instead of stopping at fast food joints, take healthy snacks like yogurt or whole grain bread sandwiches with you. This will help keep you energized without the extra calories! Safe travels everyone!

I like the food at some truck stops. When I was hauling to Michigan, one of the LOVE'S stops had a lot of different homemade food. There were a lot of high protein options, plenty of veggies. And it wasn't too expensive. By the way, I don't think protein bars are a good idea for a snack (they have a lot of sugar and a lot of different additives). It's better to take almonds or walnuts, they are very filling and give a lot of energy.

When I first started working on a truck, it seemed so easy to watch your diet. And now, I've been working for the company for three years, I constantly eat unhealthy food, and almost zero exercise in my life right now. It would be cool if someone could recommend a couple of easy recipes here.

I don't have a laptop but I'm thinking of getting one. I'm leaning towards a Chromebook because they are cheap and simple. I don't need a lot of power or storage, just something to browse the web, check my email, and stream some music. I like that they are lightweight and have long battery life. Plus, they are easy to sync with my Android phone.

I have a MacBook and I love it. It's fast, reliable, and user-friendly. I use it for everything from browsing to editing photos. I also like that it has a good webcam and microphone, so I can video chat with my family and friends. It's a bit pricey, but it's worth it in my opinion. It's also very durable and has a sleek design.

The interest to do something for myself completely disappears, I'm ashamed to admit that I had a terrible mess at home because I didn't have energy even for simple cleaning.
