Fish chaos

Fishy mess on I-5 in Washington. Some poor schmuck flipped his rig and spilled a load of fish all over the road. Talk about a stinky situation! I bet the drivers behind him were not happy to see that.

Those fish could have fed a lot of hungry people. Instead, they ended up as roadkill. What a waste.

Diesel trucks

Read this article on the best diesel trucks 2023 and I gotta say, it’s pretty interesting. Diesel trucks are still the way to go if you need to haul some serious loads. They have more torque, better fuel efficiency, and so on. For me, the best truck is the Ram 1500. It has a smooth ride, a luxurious cabin, and a powerful engine. It can tow up to 12,750 pounds, which is enough for most of my needs. Plus, it looks badass.

What do you guys think?

They all have their pros and cons, but they’re not my cup of tea. I think they’re either too small, too big, or too pricey for what they offer.

So, for me, the best diesel truck is still the Ram 1500, but I can see why some people might prefer the other trucks.

Bus crash. Orange County, NY

just saw this video on NJ4Y about a fatal bus crash in Orange County, NY. It’s a damn shame, man. Those kids were on their way to a band camp and one of them died. Five others are in critical condition and 40 more are injured. The bus flipped over and rolled down a hill into the woods.

Drive safe, check your mirrors, and watch out for other vehicles. And if you see a bus full of kids, give them some space and respect. They’re our future, after all 🙏

I used to go to band camp when I was in high school, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I made some lifelong friends there, and learned a lot about music and myself. To think that these kids were robbed of that opportunity by a freak accident is heartbreaking.

Kenworth W900 my experience

I wanted to share my experience with Kenworth W900. I’ve been driving this Rig for over 10 years and I can tell you it’s one of the best trucks out there. It has a classic look that never goes out of style. The PACCAR engine is strong. The driver's seat is ergonomic, so my back is always relaxed. I don't know much about electric trucks, eg Tesla, but the W900 always does its job.

If you want to learn more about its functions, read here: https://newjobs4you.com/blogs/experience/kenworth-w900-reviews/

nutjob who smashed the windows of a police station in Portland

What a moron! He got caught red-handed by the cops and now he’s facing some serious charges. He used a big rock to break the glass and then tried to run away, but he was too slow. He had no address, but he had an ID from Arkansas. Maybe he was high on something or just plain crazy.

I don’t get why people do stupid things like this. They think they can get away with it, but they always end up in trouble.

Should I switch to Freightliner??

I’m thinking about switching to a new company that has only Freightliner Cascadia trucks in their fleet. I’ve heard some good things about this truck, and also read article about them here https://newjobs4you.com/blogs/experience/freightliner-cascadia-reviews/, but I want to hear from you guys who have actually driven it. Is it as cool as it sounds?

Weight and size limits for each state

I gotta say, it’s a pretty interesting read https://newjobs4you.com/blogs/trucking-law/overweight-permits-by-state/ . It covers a lot of things you need to know if you’re hauling some heavy stuff. But I also have a question that maybe you can help me with. How do you find out the weight and size limits for each state and local jurisdiction? Is there a website or an app that shows them?

How to stay alerted

https://newjobs4you.com/blogs/trucking-documentation/drug-test-for-truck-drivers/

Just read this article on drug testing for truck drivers and I have some questions. How do you cope with the stress of driving a truck without using any substances? I know some drivers use caffeine, nicotine, or even prescription drugs to stay alert with the long hours. But are there any natural or healthy ways to do that?

Some good news

I gotta say, that’s some hog-wild heroism right there. I mean, look at those poor porkers, they’re sweating like pigs in a blanket. And those firemen, they’re cool as cucumbers, spraying them with water and keeping them alive. That’s some real dedication to the job, I tell you what. I wonder if they got a free bacon breakfast after that. Either way, hats off to them for doing their duty and saving those animals. Hope he didn’t have to pay for the water bill. That would be a real kick in the ham hocks. Anyway, just wanted to share this video with you guys. It’s nice to see some good news once in a while. Stay safe out there, and remember: don’t let your pigs overheat!

Know your rights

I’ve been driving trucks for over 20 years, and I’ve seen some crazy stuff on the road. But nothing prepared me for what happened last year. A drunk driver hit me and died. His family was suing me and my employer. They claimed that I was negligent and that I caused the accident. They said that I was driving too fast, and that I violated the Hours of Service regulations. I know that many of us think that this will not happen to me, but don't be fooled, you should always be prepared for such things.

I want to share with you an article that I found here, it may help shed some light on your rights.
