cargo theft prevention

https://newjobs4you.com/blogs/trucking-tips/tips-for-enhancing-security/

You know, cargo theft is a big problem. I’ve heard some horror stories of drivers losing their loads or even their trucks. The article gives some tips on how to enhance security, like using locks, seals or tracking devices. It even mentions some types of cargo theft 😂

I’m wondering if anyone here has any experience with these tips or devices. Do they really work? What are the pros and cons? I'd' appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

I use a Pandora alarm system on my truck and trailer. It’s a smart alarm that connects to your phone and sends you notifications if anything happens.

SHOOTING SOUTHEAST PORTLAND

Some nutjob went on a shooting spree in Portland and hit four houses and one guy. The cops found 37 shells on the scene. That’s some wild stuff, right? I’m glad I wasn’t driving through there at the time. Here’s the video of the aftermath. Stay safe out there, drivers.

Estes Express Lines

Estes Express Lines opening a new terminal in New Orleans. It sounds like a big deal for the company and the region.

Estes Express Lines is a big company with a lot of drivers and a good name for being on time and doing a good job. The new place has a lot of space for trucks and offices, and it’s supposed to make things easier and faster for the customers and the workers.

border crossings

just wanna share it with you, saw an article on the New Jobs 4 You about dealing with border crossings, and I wanna say, It’s pretty informative and has some good tips on what documents you need, foods you can bring, how to be polite and cooperative with the border agents. Just in case if you’re planning to cross the border anytime soon.

Here’s the link to the article: https://newjobs4you.com/blogs/trucking-tips/dealing-with-border-crossings/

be polite and cooperative with the border agents, but sometimes they can be rude and suspicious. I guess they’re just doing their job, but it can be frustrating.

Chocolate truck on fire and causing a mini apocalypse

did you hear about the chocolate truck that went up in flames in California? That’s one way to melt some chocolate, huh? 😂

https://newjobs4you.com/news/video-devastating-blaze-california-highway-engulfed-in-flames-as-semi-truck-carrying-chocolate-burns-down/

I feel bad for the driver, though. I hope he’s okay. And I hope he had insurance, because that’s a lot of chocolate to lose. Maybe he should have taken a different route, like the one with less trees and more fire hydrants.

But seriously, this is a sad story. Chocolate is a precious cargo, and it deserves to be delivered safely. Not burned to a crisp on the side of the road. That’s a tragedy, folks. A tragedy.

What do you think? Do you have any stories of losing your load to a fire? Or maybe you have some tips on how to prevent such accidents? 🔥

ELD mandate sucks

It seems like it’s just another way for the government to control us.

https://newjobs4you.com/blogs/electronic-log-book/impact-of-the-eld-mandate/

The article says that the ELD mandate is supposed to reduce driver fatigue and make the roads safer, but I don’t believe it. I think it’s just a way to make us follow the HOS rules that are unrealistic. I know when I need to rest, and I don’t want some device telling me when to stop or start.

Also, that the ELD mandate will save us money by reducing paperwork, fuel costs, downtime, and crash rates. But what about the cost of installing and maintaining it? What about the privacy and security issues?

Want to hear different opinions guys

Tragic death

Tragic death in a burning truck in Laredo, Texas. It’s a sad story, and I hope his family and friends find peace. It reminds me how important is to follow safety and maintenance rules. We need to take care of ourselves and our trucks, and make sure we don’t put anyone at risk. I hope the investigation will reveal some answers. God bless.

Interesting or Outdated?

found this article about trucking fashion and I thought it was interesting. it's talking about what we wear, but it doesn’t have a lot of insight into what we really wear or why we wear it. I think this article is a bit superficial and outdated. It doesn’t know much about trucking or truckers.

What do you think? Do you agree with me or am I being too critical?

I think you’re missing the point. The article is not about trucking fashion, it’s about trucking culture. Whatever wrote this, he was trying to show how trucking has evolved over the years and how it has influenced our style and identity. They are not saying that we have to dress like this or that, it’s just showing how different truckers express themselves through their clothing.

How to Go from Rookie to Pro

Hey folks, I need some advice from you guys. I’ve been driving trucks for a while now. I've seen that article here that gives some tips on how to do that, but I don’t know how legit it is.

What do you think of these? is the article any good? Does it work in today’s trucking world?
